Terms of use
Last updated: 30 August 2026 · Version 2.2
1. Scope and acceptance
These Terms of use govern the use of the Investboard platform (hereinafter the “platform” or the “service”), operated by Investboard GmbH (hereinafter the “provider”, “we” or “us”).
By registering for or using the platform, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the platform.
1.5 Geographic scope
Investboard is a German offering with its seat in the Federal Republic of Germany and is directed at consumers whose habitual residence is in a member state of the European Union. Germany is our home market; content, calculations and support are geared primarily to the German tax and investment environment.
Use by persons whose habitual residence is outside the European Union is excluded, in particular in the United States of America and the Swiss Confederation. The reason for this lies in the separate VAT registration obligations that apply there, outside the EU-wide One Stop Shop procedure, and not in any supervisory licensing requirement: Investboard provides neither investment advice nor investment broking (see section 2).
On registering, the user warrants that this requirement is met. The provider reserves the right to block access from jurisdictions that are not admitted, on the basis of technical characteristics (for example geo-IP), or to end the user relationship where residence in a third country is established subsequently. An overview of the regions that are not admitted, together with contact options, is available to users at /jurisdiction-unavailable (German).
Note: circumvention of the geographic access control (for example by means of VPN or proxy services) lies outside the provider’s control and does not release the user from complying with this clause. On the transfer of personal data to third countries, see Privacy policy, section “Transfer to third countries”.
2. Description of services
Investboard is a platform for the analysis, visualisation and strategic planning of investments. The service comprises in particular:
- Portfolio analysis across different asset classes
- Import and normalisation of financial data (for example via CSV)
- Strategic tools for investment planning
- AI-assisted insights and explanations
- Visualisation of performance and key figures
2.1 Market data: origin and scope of the service
Investboard does not produce market data. Prices, master data and key figures are obtained from licensed third-party providers and are displayed in the form in which those providers supply them. The providers used are named in the Privacy policy.
The accuracy and completeness of the source data supplied by those providers is therefore not owed. Investboard has neither any influence on how that data is collected nor any means of its own to establish the “correct” market price independently.
What remains owed is the proper processing of that data by Investboard: the correct assignment of a data record to the relevant financial instrument, the correct calculation of the analyses derived from it, and a presentation that does not make data appear more current than it is.
Timeliness: the timeliness of market data depends on the respective trading venue and the respective data source. It is not consistently close to real time; depending on the trading venue, data may be delayed or available only as at the previous day’s close. For investment decisions, the price quoted by the executing institution is always the authoritative one, not the presentation in Investboard.
2.2 Functionality, compatibility and updates
Functionality: Investboard is a web-based application. Use requires an internet-capable device and an existing internet connection; offline use is not provided for. No installation is required.
Compatibility and interoperability: the service is designed for the respective current version of the common browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) on desktop and mobile devices. Data can be brought in via CSV files and via account aggregation (see section 9) and can be exported at any time.
Updates: for the duration of the contractual relationship, the provider supplies the updates that are necessary to maintain the conformity of the service with the contract, including security updates pursuant to Section 327f of the German Civil Code (§ 327f BGB). Users are informed about updates in an appropriate manner.
Changes during the term: the provider develops the service further on an ongoing basis. Changes that go beyond what is necessary to maintain conformity with the contract are made only under the conditions of § 327r BGB. Where such a change impairs access or usability more than only marginally, the user is informed of it in advance and may end the contract free of charge under the statutory conditions.
Contract language: the language of the contract and of communication is German. Parts of the interface are additionally available in English; the German version of these Terms of use is the authoritative one.
Important note
Investboard is not investment advice and not a trading venue. The platform provides no financial advice, no recommendations to buy or sell financial instruments and no order execution. Investboard does not replace individual advice from qualified financial advisers.
3. Registration and account
Registration is required in order to use certain functions. You are obliged to provide truthful information when registering and to treat your access credentials as confidential.
You are responsible for all activity that takes place under your account. If you suspect unauthorised use of your account, you are obliged to notify us without undue delay at support@investboard.de.
We reserve the right to block or delete accounts in the event of breaches of these Terms of use.
4. Obligations of the user
The user undertakes:
- To use the platform only for lawful purposes
- Not to upload false or misleading data
- To ensure the security of their account
- Not to carry out automated access (bots, scraping) without permission
- Not to circumvent any security mechanisms of the platform
- Not to upload content that infringes applicable law
- Not to use the platform for commercial investment advice
5. Intellectual property
All rights in the platform, including software, design, texts, graphics, logos and other content, are vested in the provider or its licensors. Use of the platform grants the user no ownership of the content made available or of the technology.
The data entered or imported by the user (in particular portfolio data) remains the property of the user. The provider receives a limited licence to process this data solely for the purpose of providing the service.
6. Disclaimer: no financial advice
The information, analyses, calculations and presentations made available through Investboard expressly do not constitute investment advice, a recommendation or an invitation to buy or sell financial instruments.
Investboard is a tool for strategy development and analysis. The platform:
- Executes no trading orders and is not a trading venue
- Gives no personalised investment recommendations
- Guarantees no particular investment results
- Cannot predict future market developments
- Does not replace qualified financial advice
Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results. Every investment decision is the sole responsibility of the user.
7. Limitation of liability
The provider is liable without limitation for damage arising from injury to life, body or health that is based on an intentional or negligent breach of duty, and for damage based on intentional or grossly negligent conduct.
In all other respects, the provider is liable only for the breach of material contractual obligations (cardinal obligations), and then limited to the foreseeable damage typical of this type of contract.
In the following cases in particular, liability does not arise in the first place, because the service in question is not owed:
- Financial losses arising from the user’s investment decisions. Investboard provides no investment advice (see section 6); the economic success of an investment is not the subject matter of the contract.
- The accuracy and completeness of the source market data supplied by third-party providers, and its timeliness (see section 2.1). Liability for the proper processing of that data by Investboard remains unaffected.
- Events of force majeure for which the provider is not responsible.
No particular availability rate is promised. The provider renders the service according to the current state of the art and may restrict the service temporarily for maintenance work; it endeavours to announce maintenance windows in advance and to place them in periods of low demand.
8. Data import and portfolio data
The user may bring their own financial data into the platform using various import methods (for example CSV upload). The user is responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of the imported data.
The imported data is used solely to provide the platform services. It is not passed on to third parties unless this is necessary for the technical provision of the service (see the Privacy policy).
The user may export their data at any time and may request the deletion of their data.
9. Account aggregation (AIS)
Account aggregation (the connection to bank and brokerage accounts for the automatic transfer of data) is carried out by wealthAPI GmbH, a provider authorised by BaFin as an account information service (AIS; German: Kontoinformationsdienst) pursuant to Section 1(34) of the German Payment Services Supervision Act (§ 1 Abs. 34 ZAG).
Investboard does not itself act as an account information service. Legal responsibility for carrying out account aggregation in a regulatorily compliant manner, including compliance with the requirements of the PSD2 Directive and of the German Payment Services Supervision Act (ZAG), lies with wealthAPI GmbH. The associated data-processing and AIS agreements between Investboard and wealthAPI GmbH have been concluded.
The flow of data is described in detail in the privacy notice (see Privacy policy, section “Disclosure of data to third parties (WealthAPI)”).
10. Subscription and billing
Investboard offers both free and paid functions. The details of the available subscription models and their prices are presented transparently on the platform.
During and after a trial period, we inform you by email about your trial period and about similar services of our own. You may object to this use of your email address at any time, and no costs arise for doing so other than the transmission costs at basic rates; every such email contains an unsubscribe link for this purpose.
Paid subscriptions renew automatically for the respective billing period unless the user cancels before the end of the current term.
Price changes are notified to the user with reasonable notice before the start of the next billing period.
For a contract concluded by distance selling, consumers have the statutory right of withdrawal. The details, including the electronic withdrawal function, are set out in our Withdrawal notice (German).
At your express request, we already make the digital service available during the withdrawal period. If you withdraw from the contract after that start, compensation for the value of the service rendered up to that point may be owed under the statutory conditions.
11. Termination
The user may end their contract at any time, without signing in, through our electronic cancellation function: “Verträge hier kündigen” (German page). Receipt of the cancellation is confirmed without undue delay in text form, including the date and time of receipt and the point in time at which the contract ends.
Alternatively, the user may cancel their account through the account settings or by email to support@investboard.de.
Where a paid subscription is cancelled, access remains in place until the end of the current billing period. Amounts already paid are not refunded unless statutory provisions require this.
Cancellation ends the automatic renewal for the future. It is to be distinguished from the statutory withdrawal from the conclusion of a contract. Consumers may withdraw from a contract through our electronic withdrawal function (German).
The provider is entitled to terminate the user relationship extraordinarily for good cause, in particular in the event of serious breaches of these Terms of use.
After termination, user data is treated in accordance with our Privacy policy.
12. Applicable law and place of jurisdiction
The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies, to the exclusion of the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG).
If your habitual residence is in another member state of the European Union, you retain the protection granted by the mandatory consumer protection provisions of the state of your residence. The choice of law applies only to the extent that it does not deprive you of that protection (Art. 6(2) of Regulation (EC) No 593/2008, Rome I).
The place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms of use is (to the extent legally permissible) the seat of the provider.
For consumers, this agreement on the place of jurisdiction applies only to the extent that it does not affect mandatory statutory provisions.
13. Severability clause
Should a provision of these Terms of use be or become invalid, the remainder of the contract continues to be effective. The statutory provisions take the place of the invalid provision (§ 306(2) BGB).
